"Green Lantern" gets a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes...Yikes! Splat City!

Wow! Due to this horrendously low rating, we've decided not to go see "Green Lantern" this weekend. Even though I already bought tickets for the Arclight. At this point we're going to wait a week and see how the word of mouth pans out, then make a decision from there.

Incredible! I always thought we'd go opening weekend, plus the film was looking a bit better with that last epic trailer. At this point if things don't get any better I could actually see us bypassing the movie altogether. Click on the image to be taken to the "Green Lantern" Rotten Tomatoes page.

Just really sad, since I was a fairly avid Green Lantern comics fan in the 80's and was hoping for this to be pretty cool. Yeah, it's gonna be cool alright...cool at the box office.

I decided shortly after the first trailer to just steer clear of this one. I may or may not even watch it when it comes out on DVD. My opinion is that WB should take the Marvel Studios approach to making movies.

And part of the problem is Ryan Reynolds, he's no Hal Jordan. Now, if they had made the Kyle Rayner version of the Green Lantern Reynolds would be perfect. The original Hal Jordan design was supposedly based on Paul Newman, so...
AND the whole villain Parallax thing doesn't happen until the 90's, (30 years into GLs existence) and Hal Jordan IS Parallax!

Marvel has successfully created a system where they can connect all of their characters and have them live in the same "movieverse" so one character or storyline doesn't feel awkward or out of place.

All of the DC movies should be keying off of Nolan's Dark Knight movies. And there's no reason they can't do that, the DC universe works really well on paper because they got all their writers and artists on board with the concept.

Okay, climbing down off the soap box. ;)

seems like you fail big time. giving rating with reference to rottentomatoes rating and not your own. good luck to your website
