Like I was even remotely surprised! Just like yesterday's wonderfully positive news that "X-Men: First Class" is certifiably awesome, here is a smattering of amazing review snippets posted after a special advanced screening of JJ Abrams' "Super 8" over the weekend. JJ Abrams + Steven Spielberg = Summer Hit!
Love the retro back vibe of this film, love the total Spielberg-like emotions and plot coupled with Abrams lens flare/moving camera/slow reveal (of the monster).

I think we are going to melt over this movie! It has all the trappings of the Spielberg movies we loved from the late 70's and early 80's and JJ Abrams touch looks to be so incredibly loving to that vibe while bringing his own sensibilities and wonder to the story and look.
Maybe this will help you forgive him for "Star Trek"?
